General Rules for tourneys that are supported by Mplayer

These tourneys are run by players that are interested in running tourneys.
All games take place at Mplayer of course.
Also these tourneys are not run by Mplayer or anyone else at Mplayer. We provide them a link on our pages (schedule page) and may annouce Monthly winners and stuff.
So all email and anything else to do with these tourneys are to be sent to the player running them not to Mplayer or me (Wizard-Drake).

Rules

When the host arrives at Mplayer and says he is taking "in's" then you may sign up.
Tourneys are 16 player tourneys. So once the first 16 players have signed up, then this current tourney is full.
Winners only advance in these tourneys making them about 2 hours or less long.
Games are played to 100 points.
You will receive 2 points for winning round 1 and advancing to the finals towards the leaderboard.
The winner of the finals will get 2 more points (on top of the original 2 they got from round 1) towards the leaderboard.
The top 16 players will be invited to the monthly championships to declre the winner for that month. It will be posted on the pages and the final will take place about a week after the last tourney of the month has been played.
It is up to the top 16 to see if they made it or not. If 16 don't show up then the 17th place person will take a spot, if 2 players don't show up from the top 16 then the 18th person will play, etc.
So it is advisable probably for the top 24 for to show up.
If there is a tie for first place in a game then the 2 players play against 2 bots and when a human or bot reaches 25 points the game is over. The lowest human will advance to the next round if it was a round 1 game and get 2 points, the loser of the tiebreaker will get 1 point. If it was the finals then the winner gets an aditional 2 points (on top of the original 2 they got from round 1)for winning the finals and the loser will get 1 point (on top of the original 2 they got from round 1).
If a player gets booted please play as slow as possible but not so the computer plays your card. Leave the timers set to there defaults please. Hopefully this will allow them to get back before next deal. If a player is booted before the game starts he has 5 minutes to return and get to table. If he doesn't make it, it is up to the host to get another player in his spot and that player booted losses his spot.
All and any decisions are final by the tourney host.

My Additions

If someone is gone for more than 5 and then returns that player may join only if a substitute has not taken his/her spot. If a substitute has already taken the place after 5 mins then the substitute keeps the spot.

If player(s) are booted and it is impossible for anyone to rejoin the game, the results will be the scores showing under the names at the moment of booting. The finalist will be decided from those scores and all scores after are null and void. This rule only applies as long as the highest score is over 60. If the highest score is under 60, a tiebreak will be played between the four up to the score of 30. All the tiebreak scores will be added to the scores before booting and then the lowest score will be finalist.

If at the finals, a finalist does not show, the substitute will be the second place at that room, no other substitute will be accepted. The original finalist gets 2 pts, the substitute gets 1 pt plus any more he/she gets.

Using the utility on the sign-up page does not mean that you are guaranteed a spot in the tourney. It only means that we may wait for you to come, but I can still give your spot away. I will only consider requests made by regulars.
